Jeff was diagnosed with ALS on August 14, 2003, two days after his 39th  birthday.

Jeff married Kathryn Lundeen on October 11, 2003, two months after he was diagnosed.

His progression has been very quick.  He was using a power chair by the end of 2003. He started using a bi-pap 24/7 in March 2004 and by October 2004 could no longer drive his wheelchair. In May of 2005 Jeff got a feeding tube and by August could no longer speak. In October of 2005 he got a trach. At that time he couldn’t move anything but his eyes. He communicated using an eye tracking system, but his eyes have progressed so much that he can’t blink and uses an alphabet board to communicate.

Jeff worked at Dailey and Associates, an advertising agency in Los Angeles, as a copywriter/creative director for six years.
